The Homeostasis Journal · Last updated October 20, 2026
DRAFT for Brenny and a lawyer to review before launch.
The Homeostasis Journal ("the journal," "we," "us") is a daily digital journal for finding balance, made by Brenny & LLC. This policy explains what information the journal and this website use, why, and the choices you have. Questions are welcome at support@myhomeostasisjournal.com.
Your journal entries
Everything you write or choose in the journal (ratings, plans, reflections, check-ins, and settings) belongs to you. Today, the journal saves your entries in your own web browser, on the device where you write them. They are not sent to us.
(To be updated before launch, when accounts arrive: your entries will also be saved in your private account, hosted by our database provider, so they follow you between devices. We will describe that storage, its security, and how to download or delete your entries here.)
We do not sell your entries, use them for advertising, or share them, except with the service providers named below that run the journal for us. We read them only if you ask us to for support.
Google Calendar (optional)
If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, the journal asks Google for permission to:
- See and add events on your calendars (
calendar.events): to show your appointments on your daily and weekly pages and, only when you confirm, to add an event you planned in the journal. - See the list of your calendars (
calendar.calendarlist.readonly): so you can choose which calendars appear in your journal. - Create and manage a calendar of its own (
calendar.app.created): the journal makes one calendar named for you and adds the events you approve there, leaving your other calendars as they are.
How we handle your Google data
- Your calendar events are read fresh each time you open a month. They are not stored by the journal or on our servers. A short list of the events you chose to add is kept in your own browser so you can review it.
- The sign-in permission from Google (an access token) is kept only in your browser's memory for about one hour. It is not saved and is not sent to our servers.
- We do not sell Google data, use it for advertising, share it, or use it to train artificial intelligence. People do not read it unless you ask us to for support, or the law requires it.
- The Homeostasis Journal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- You can disconnect at any time from the journal's Calendar button, and remove the journal's access in your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Ask for help
When you ask the journal's helper a question, your question and the name of the page you are on are sent to Anthropic, the company that makes Claude, to write the answer. Your journal entries and your calendar are not sent. The conversation is kept only while the journal is open. Anthropic does not use these questions to train its models under its commercial terms.
Buying the journal
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle collects your name, email address, and payment details to complete the sale and handle sales tax, under Paddle's privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, and what you bought, so we can give you access and help you. We do not see or store card numbers.
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no advertising. This website and the journal do not use tracking cookies or analytics services.
- Hosting. The website is served by Cloudflare, which records basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
- Fonts. The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts load.
- Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and email address to answer you.
Service providers
Cloudflare (website hosting and email forwarding), Google (Google Calendar, if you connect it, and Google Fonts), Anthropic (the helper), and Paddle (purchases). (Before launch: our database provider for accounts.) Each receives only what it needs to do its part.
Your choices and rights
You can disconnect Google Calendar and stop using the helper at any time. While your entries are saved in your browser, clearing this website's data in your browser settings removes them. You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to support@myhomeostasisjournal.com. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have further rights, and we will honor them.
Security
The website is served only over a secure connection (https). Private keys stay on our servers and are not placed in the journal's pages.
Children
The journal is made for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
When this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. For important changes, we will also let buyers know by email.
